7 fun traditions for Father’s Day

Father’s Day is upon us and if you’re looking for something fun to do for Father’s Day, you’re in luck!
I asked my Instagram community to share their best Father’s Day traditions and there were some fun ideas!
A couple of years ago, I asked Bart what he wanted to do for Father’s Day and he said, “I want a blind tasting lunch.”
This. . . It wasn’t what I expected, but it turned out to be really fun!
I bought about 15 items from the grocery store: fun, unusual things like pickled pineapple and fancy cheeses, fun drinks, and products we don’t eat often.
At lunch, everyone in the family would sit around the table on our terrace, put on their bandages and I would take out a small plate for each person with the next dish on top. They would try it and once everyone had had a taste, they would try to guess what it was before taking it away
It’s been several years since we did this and my family still talks about it!
Here are some other fun ideas for Father’s Day!

Father’s Day banner
Have you seen those HUGE coloring banners?! One family shared, “The Father’s Day Busy Banner is so fun to hang on Father’s Day! Work on it with your kids first!” The idea is simple: order a giant banner to color, let the kids work on it in secret before Father’s Day, and then surprise Dad by hanging it on the big day. Not only does it give kids a fun project to work on, it also creates a personalized decoration that makes dad feel extra celebrated.
“Fantastic” dinner.
One mother shared, “The kids and I cleaned out the garage, then made dinner on a camp table in our clean garage, candles and all! We plan to do it again this year.” I love this Father’s Day tradition because it shows that you don’t need anything elaborate to make the day special. A simple change of scenery, whether it’s a dinner in the garage, a picnic in the backyard, or a meal on the porch or deck, can turn an ordinary family dinner into a memory everyone looks forward to repeating year after year.
Paired with dad
This made me smile because it’s such a simple way to make Father’s Day a little special. A reader shared the tradition of, “My two older kids are boys, so I usually get them all new matching ties! Now that I have two younger girls, I try to get matching ties and bows. Boon Ties are a great option to get them!” In our family, my husband is the only boy, but I know my girls would be thrilled to match Bart with matching bows or dresses! Whether it’s ties, bows, or other fun accessories, I love the idea of kids dressing up to match Dad for the day.
Dad’s Choice Day
Sometimes the best gift for Father’s Day is simply spending the day together doing what dad loves most. A family said “Family day where dad chooses what to do. Usually we park, have a picnic, then go for a bike ride. And finally prepare dinner as a family.” I love how simple and flexible this tradition is: Whether Dad chooses a hike, a play day, a trip to the park, or a favorite family outing, the goal is to create memories together and celebrate it in a way uniquely his own.
Fun taste test
I love this idea because it’s easy to customize it based on what dad loves most. A few years ago, when we were trying to decide what to get my husband Bart for Christmas, we put together a root beer taste test and it was a huge success (I have a blog post about it here, if you want to try recreating it)! One mother shared, “This year we plan to do an ice cream taste test. I’ll buy several pints and everyone can try them (my husband loves ice cream).” Whether it’s root beer, ice cream, cheese, cookies or another favorite treat, a family taste test is an easy way to make Father’s Day fun, memorable and tailored to the dad you’re celebrating.
Sentimental book
This might be one of the sweetest Father’s Day traditions I’ve ever heard. “When my two older children were little, I started writing a book for my husband. Every year the kids answer questions about their father and I write them in the book. I also traced their hands in the book when they were little. They also draw a picture or write him a letter (as they got older) and I put that in there, too. Every year I take a photo of him with the kids and add it to the book. So he has a collection of things from every child from every year for Father’s Day.” I love how this tradition captures not only the changing handwriting and artwork of children, but also their personalities and memories over the years.
Father’s Day breakfast
If the way to your husband or father’s heart is through his stomach, this tradition is an easy win! One mother shared, “Every year I make him his favorite breakfast: biscuits and sausage gravy.” There’s something special about starting Father’s Day with a meal prepared just for him, and it doesn’t have to be complicated. This simple tradition is a heartfelt way to make him feel celebrated from the moment he wakes up.
Any other favorite Father’s Day traditions? I’d love to hear!

PakarPBN
A Private Blog Network (PBN) is a collection of websites that are controlled by a single individual or organization and used primarily to build backlinks to a “money site” in order to influence its ranking in search engines such as Google. The core idea behind a PBN is based on the importance of backlinks in Google’s ranking algorithm. Since Google views backlinks as signals of authority and trust, some website owners attempt to artificially create these signals through a controlled network of sites.
In a typical PBN setup, the owner acquires expired or aged domains that already have existing authority, backlinks, and history. These domains are rebuilt with new content and hosted separately, often using different IP addresses, hosting providers, themes, and ownership details to make them appear unrelated. Within the content published on these sites, links are strategically placed that point to the main website the owner wants to rank higher. By doing this, the owner attempts to pass link equity (also known as “link juice”) from the PBN sites to the target website.
The purpose of a PBN is to give the impression that the target website is naturally earning links from multiple independent sources. If done effectively, this can temporarily improve keyword rankings, increase organic visibility, and drive more traffic from search results.
