The best swimsuits for tween and teen girls

A few weeks ago I received two consecutive messages about teen swimsuits.

One said: “How about swimsuits for teenagers who need a bit of chest coverage? I struggle to find anything age appropriate that isn’t super padded and she thinks it’s embarrassing!”

And the second said, “Comrade mom! My 12 1/2-year-old needs more chest coverage than a girl’s swimsuit, but not the cups of a girl’s swimsuit. She prefers a one-piece. Any brands that have worked well for your girls in the middle?”

When I shared these messages on Instagram, my DMs exploded with people saying “Please share the replies! I’m in the same boat!”

Luckily there was a lot of good advice!

If you’re looking for good swimsuits for kids and teens this year, I hope you find them helpful!

The 5 most mentioned brands of swimwear for boys and teenagers

Bay window
$48-$68 swimsuit separates, $98-$108 one-piece swimsuits (use my affiliate code EVERYDAYREADING for 10% off)

This swimsuit brand has appeared time and time again (and I’ve owned a few of their swimsuits and agree they’re great!

One mom said, “I love the Janela Bay brand for my girls…they have good chest coverage and are modest. They’re a little pricey, but great quality!”

Another parent said, “We love Janela Bay for my childhood (and me). They can be expensive, but they usually have a clearance section for 50% off.” Definitely keep an eye on the sales section!

Swim on the water slide
$34 swimsuit separates, $52 one-piece (use my affiliate code JANSSEN for 10% off)

I had never heard of Waterslide Swim before, but it has come up so many times. After checking out the website, I wasn’t surprised that it was such a popular choice because it’s specifically designed for tweens who want more coverage without looking childish.

I ended up ordering one for my 11 and 13 year olds who both love them!

One parent said, “My daughter loved her swimsuits from Waterslide Swim last summer (age 11) and I plan to buy more for this summer.”

End of the lands
$40-$200 (they often have good sales, so keep an eye out!)

No surprise to see Lands’ End swimsuits on this list of recommendations! I grew up wearing Lands’ End dresses and still love them! They are known for higher necklines, looser bottoms, and quality fabric that holds up well to swimming and sun. Many parents say that small or smaller women’s sizes can work well for teenagers who want something less childish.

One mom said, “My daughter spent ten years on a competitive swim team and we were able to find swimsuits there with higher chests and fuller butt coverage!”

Swim intensely
$34-$62 (Use my affiliate code EVERYDAYREADING at checkout!)
One of my all-time favorite swimsuits was from Rad Swim and they are popular among tweens and teens because they are stylish but still modest and confident. They also have a section specifically for tweens on their website, which is great!

One mom said, “Expensive but worth it for tweens!”

Athlete
$34-$49 swimsuit separates, $59-$69 one-piece swimsuits
If your child or teenager loves a sportier swimsuit, Athleta is for you! Most of their suits include lightweight padding and athletic cuts that stay in place for swimming, paddleboarding, or beach activities.

One DM said: “I found the Athleta Zip Front Suit offered the perfect coverage. A little padding in the chest area but nothing crazy.”

Other Frequently Recommended Teen and Teen Swimwear Brands

Abercrombie Kids
$35-45 Separates and one-piece suits

One parent said, “We found a cute one at Abercrombie Kids last year, lightly padded, just enough for his age!”

Arena

$30-$55 Full Dresses
This brand is new to me, but these swimsuits have cute colors and fun prints, but are also a competition swimsuit that would be perfect for the swim team.

Cat & Jack at the target

$12-$24
Target has some really great options at a great price. When you need something quick it’s easy to order one for same day pickup or delivery.

DM Fashion

$74-$109
If you have an older teen, these dresses are so cute! The styles are modest, but still so elegant.

J. Crew

$30-$100
I have long loved J Crew and they have so many great swimsuit options that are cute and great quality.

Justice at Walmart
$14-$20
This was a great find and I will be ordering some for my girls right away! They are so convenient!

One mom said, “It’s all my mature 12-year-old daughter has worn for the past two years. They’re perfect for girls who need a little padding but not adult cups. Justice dresses have a ruffle on the chest or removable cups.”

Swimzip
$40-$50
I love these swimsuits because they offer better coverage – my girls tend to love a swimsuit where they don’t have to put as much sunscreen on, especially at the beach or water park!

One parent said, “Zipper swimsuits have bra padding for tween sizes and it’s great!”

Title Nine

$65-$109
This is a swimsuit brand I had never heard of but it was a popular suggestion!

One message read: “Title Nine has some fabulous turtleneck dresses and different styles. Plus a generous return policy.”

Nipple covers for cakes
$30
I hadn’t even thought about it but they were recommended to me so many times!

One mom said, “They’re form-fitting, not sticky. They don’t add extra padding that would make girls feel weird, but it’s nice to have something when you need a little extra coverage.”

Another said: “You could also try Cakes nipple covers! There are different sizes and I think the smallest is perfect for tweens and teens. So you could have the flexibility to wear clothes everywhere and still have some coverage!”

PakarPBN

A Private Blog Network (PBN) is a collection of websites that are controlled by a single individual or organization and used primarily to build backlinks to a “money site” in order to influence its ranking in search engines such as Google. The core idea behind a PBN is based on the importance of backlinks in Google’s ranking algorithm. Since Google views backlinks as signals of authority and trust, some website owners attempt to artificially create these signals through a controlled network of sites.

In a typical PBN setup, the owner acquires expired or aged domains that already have existing authority, backlinks, and history. These domains are rebuilt with new content and hosted separately, often using different IP addresses, hosting providers, themes, and ownership details to make them appear unrelated. Within the content published on these sites, links are strategically placed that point to the main website the owner wants to rank higher. By doing this, the owner attempts to pass link equity (also known as “link juice”) from the PBN sites to the target website.

The purpose of a PBN is to give the impression that the target website is naturally earning links from multiple independent sources. If done effectively, this can temporarily improve keyword rankings, increase organic visibility, and drive more traffic from search results.
