A weekend of book deals for Pi Day

Happy Pi day!

Tonight we are hosting our annual Pi Day party and I can’t wait!

I’m also hoping to get some reads – I’m about halfway through about 5 books and would love to hear about some of them!

Here are some of my favorite book deals going on this weekend:

When you reach meWhen you reach me

When You Reach Me by Rebecca Stead – ebook – $3.99
I read this book and really liked it, but I wasn’t sure what to say about it. It’s bizarre, sure, but fun and extremely readable. This book was universally a winner in mock Newberys across the country and ultimately won the gold sticker.

Mrs. Frisby and the Mice of NimhMrs. Frisby and the Mice of Nimh

Mrs. Frisby and the NIHM Rats by Robert C. O’Brien – ebook – $2.99
If you’ve never read this Newbery winner about some very intelligent rats who help save a small family of mice, you’re missing out. The first chapter or two are a little slow, but after that we couldn’t read enough and were reading long after bedtime, many nights. (I’ve never read the sequel: is it worth it?).

The Berry Pickers by Amanda Peters – audiobook – $4.99
A Mi’kmaq girl disappears from a Maine blueberry field in 1962, and the mystery refuses to stay buried. Decades later, a young woman is haunted by dreams that begin to pull at the strings her parents wished she would leave alone… and what she reveals will change everything.

Shatter Me 3-Book Set 1 by Tahereh Mafi – $6.99
This audiobook contains three novels of a very popular YA romance. In the first chapter, a girl with the ability to kill with a single touch is held hostage as an evil regime called the Reestablishment tries to use her as a weapon.

Peter Rabbit: Bedtime Stories by Beatrix Potter – audiobook – $5.49
All the love to Peter Rabbit and company in our house. This collection contains 24 new stories inspired by Beatrix Potter’s best-loved animal tales, so it will keep you entertained long before bed. (Plus, this is a Libro.FM deal, so you can use it to make a Yoto card!)

the last love notebookthe last love notebook

The Last Love Note by Emma Gray – Audiobook – $5.99
This was the first book I finished in 2024 and it made it into my favorite books of 2024! This was heartbreaking and hopeful and I was sucked in by the first page about a woman who lost her husband first mentally and then physically to early dementia. (I also read his new book – Photos of you – which I didn’t think was as good).

Click, clack, peek! by Doreen Cronin – audiobook – $1.99
I’ve loved Click Clack Moo books since I was first introduced to them in graduate school, and this Spring/Easter version of the book is exactly what you’d expect: charming and fun. (Plus, this is a Libro.FM deal, so you can use it to make a Yoto card!)

when the day comeswhen the day comes

When the Day Comes by Gabrielle Meyer – audiobook – $6.99
In this time travel diary, Libby is given the gift of going to sleep in one period of time and waking up in another period of time without any time having passed. He divides his time between the colonial Williamsburg of 1774 and the other Gilded Age New York City of 1914. He lives a very different life in each, but there comes a time when he must make a very important decision about which time period he will remain in forever. It was a fun listen!

Winnie the PoohWinnie the Pooh

Winnie-the-Pooh by AA Milne – audiobook – $0.99
This nearly 3-hour collection of Winnie the Pooh stories is a true classic! Seriously, this is an incredible audiobook to have on hand.

The Diamond Eye by Kate Quinn – audiobook – $4.99
I couldn’t believe I didn’t read Kate Quinn until January for our Daily Reading Book Club and I’ve loved her ever since! This one, based on the true story of a Ukrainian sniper known as “Lady Death” during World War II, looks like another one I need to add to my list!

PakarPBN

A Private Blog Network (PBN) is a collection of websites that are controlled by a single individual or organization and used primarily to build backlinks to a “money site” in order to influence its ranking in search engines such as Google. The core idea behind a PBN is based on the importance of backlinks in Google’s ranking algorithm. Since Google views backlinks as signals of authority and trust, some website owners attempt to artificially create these signals through a controlled network of sites.

In a typical PBN setup, the owner acquires expired or aged domains that already have existing authority, backlinks, and history. These domains are rebuilt with new content and hosted separately, often using different IP addresses, hosting providers, themes, and ownership details to make them appear unrelated. Within the content published on these sites, links are strategically placed that point to the main website the owner wants to rank higher. By doing this, the owner attempts to pass link equity (also known as “link juice”) from the PBN sites to the target website.

The purpose of a PBN is to give the impression that the target website is naturally earning links from multiple independent sources. If done effectively, this can temporarily improve keyword rankings, increase organic visibility, and drive more traffic from search results.
