2026 Daily Reading Book Club List
by 184yw8rhwhr
It’s one of the best days of the year – it’s the reveal for the 2026 Daily Reading Book Club list!
2026 is the NINTH year of the Daily Read Book Club and I love seeing new people join each year!
Nothing delights me more than messages from people who say they would never have picked up a specific book or tried an unfamiliar author or genre without the Daily Reading Book Club.
The Daily Reading Book Club list is ALSO the most stressful project of the year for me (in fact, up until Monday, I was sweating over the last few slots trying to decide which of the MANY books on my options list would take those last few slots).
When it comes to the Summer Reading Guide (one of my other biggest projects of the year), it’s a list of books I liked that you can choose from.
But for Book Club, this is a list of books that I commit to reading and discussing for an entire year, week after week. And I’m asking you to read them with me.
Not only do I want YOU to feel excited (or at least interested) by most of the books on the list, but I also want a good variety of genres and formats, a mix of old and new titles, fiction and nonfiction.
And I’m looking for books that are reasonably easily available in your library or included on Audible or Hoopla or can be purchased for a decent price.
Also, to keep it fun, I like a mix of books I’ve already read and loved, as well as books I’ve been eager to read and have had on my TBR list for a while.
Most of all, I need books that have enough substance to talk about for weeks at a time. There are many books that are very entertaining but I would struggle to have anything meaningful to say about them.
All of this is to say that I take the burden of choosing these twelve books each year VERY SERIOUSLY.
Every week on Wednesdays, we’ll talk about that month’s book on Instagram Stories (if you’re new to the Everyday Reading Book Club, I have a whole post here about how it works!).
Last year we also added a Fable discussion group (it’s free!) that lets you interact with other readers and share your feedback on the books, chapter by chapter. I loved seeing thousands of people join in and interact like that!
And if you want monthly updates on upcoming books, your reading schedule, and where to find cheap copies, plus occasional fun extras related to these books, enter your email address below and you won’t miss a thing!

2026 Daily Reading Book Club List
JANUARY

The Briar Club by Kate Quinn
Readers have been telling me for YEARS that I need to read something by Kate Quinn and now is the time! A historical thriller set in a boarding house in 1950s Washington DC? I can’t wait to read it together (also, I picked out a first-time novel for January in book club last year and it was a huge success, so we’ll do it again this year!)
FEBRUARY

Reconnected: How 7 Screen-Free Weeks with Amish Monks and Farmers Helped Me Reclaim the Lost Art of Being Human by Carlos Whittaker
February is Valentine’s Day season that makes me think about relationships and really nothing hurts my relationships more than screen use, so I think this will be a perfect read.
MARCH

Andy Weir’s Hail Mary Project
I had it in my 2021 summer reading guide, but I knew I had to revisit it! I read an ebook copy of it before it came out, but this time I’ll listen to the audio which everyone is raving about. In this one, Ryland Grace wakes up in a spaceship with no idea where she is, what she’s supposed to do, or even what her name is. As memories slowly begin to return, he remembers that the sun was darkening and that he was only a few decades away from finding the problem and a solution before life on earth became unsustainable. And now he’s in space on a single-handed mission to save all of humanity. No pressure. It’s full of humor, suspense, and science that is (mostly) understandable to laypeople. And the movie version with Ryan Gosling comes out in March – I hope to host a viewing!
APRIL

Helpless by Lauren Roberts
We’ve done some fun YA fantasy in the past for book club and I have literally dozens of posts and screenshots about this super popular book. Set in a kingdom where only the powerful survive, Paedyn Gray pretends to be psychic to survive… until she saves a prince and becomes involved in the deadly Purgation Trials. As forbidden feelings run wild between them, they are forced to navigate a world designed to tear them apart, risking everything for a love that should never exist.
MAY

The Unthinkable: Who Survives When Disaster Strikes and Why by Amanda Ripley
I read and loved Amanda Ripley’s book The smartest children in the world years ago and I still think about it often, so I’m really excited to read this new book of his that has even BETTER reviews than The smartest children!
JUNE

Johnnie Christmas swim team
During the summer, I always like to choose books that I can read with the whole family, and I’ve especially been itching to add more graphic novels to my list. This is really well done: beautiful illustrations, great characters, and a fun, heartfelt story. It’s a definite winner. Bree is excited for her first day at a new middle school… until she discovers that the only elective still open is the swim team. But how does he tell his friends and his coach that he can’t swim? My girls loved this!
JULY

Shipwreck at the Bottom of the World by Jennifer Armstrong
My father-in-law loves Shackleton and I have been meaning to read this book on his recommendation for more than a decade. And when I finally read it aloud to my girls I was amazed at how excellent it was! This is one of those true stories that leaves you speechless thinking it actually happened. This isn’t very long and is perfect for a family or solo read.
AUGUST

No purchase necessary by Maria Marianayagam
This book was recommended by Sarah from Read Aloud Revival who has impeccable taste and I picked it up at the library a few weeks ago and knew right away that it would be a perfect choice for the book club about a boy who is forced to steal a candy bar and then when the boy who told him to do so rejects it, he opens it to find that it is a million dollar winning candy bar.
SEPTEMBER

The Lion Women of Tehran by Marjan Kamali
This book has become one of my favorites over and over again and I have been meaning to read it. Now is my time! This one is set in 1950s Tehran (a great companion to our January book!) about two girls who form a friendship as children.
OCTOBER

Nettle and bones of T. Kingfisher
I read and loved it A witch comes calling last year and I’m excited to read this previous storybook of his that has won just about every award you can imagine (bonus: it’s included on Kindle Unlimited!)
NOVEMBER

The Riverside Boys: A Deaf Football Team and a Quest for Glory by Thomas Fuller
Every year my library has a “Best Books” event where librarians share their favorite books of the year and this one has been awarded to me ever since it arrived at one of those events. Fall is football season and I can’t wait to dive into it.
DECEMBER

Once upon a time there was a closet by Patti Callahan
I can’t imagine a book that expresses December, Christmas, and a snowy winter wonderland more. Blending fantasy and history, this novel offers a glimpse into the life of C.S. Lewis, the mastermind behind it The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe – also telling a beautiful story about the bond between a sister and her brother.
