What we gave Ani for her 13th birthday
Earlier this week, Ani turned thirteen!
He attended middle school this fall and did very well in Mandarin (which is especially impressive because he missed two years of it when he left an immersion school and then picked up again last year with a tutor while home schooling)
She loves crafts and puzzles and listens to more audiobooks than I could ever dream of fitting in!
We celebrated her special day with breakfast in bed and a birthday party with colors and a hot tub with friends.

Gifts for 13 year old girls
NECKLACE
I spotted this gorgeous necklace earlier this year and knew it would be perfect for Ani’s 13th birthday (my parents gave me a beautiful piece of jewelry for my 13th birthday and my grandparents gave one to my mom, so it’s a nice family tradition).
EMMA M LEONE SWEATSHIRT
This was the most fun gift to choose and I looked at a lot of fun options on Etsy before landing on this one! She’s worn it pretty much every day since her birthday and I’m so happy she loves it!
ENGRAVING PEN
Bart picked it out for Ani (he’s a much funnier giver than me) and she was using it within five minutes of opening it. Perfect gift for teens and young teens!
VIOLIN MUSIC
Ani started taking violin lessons this year after years of requests and loves it! Ella chose it for Ani and it was so fun to see her start learning some songs already.
LIGHTS FAIRY
This was something on Ani’s Christmas wish list, but she didn’t have to wait for the big day as Star made her wishes come true with them for her birthday. They hang in her room and give her such a festive glow!
ZIG ZAG BANDS
This was Tally’s gift (off Ani’s wish list) and they were a great success. And they would be perfect stocking stuffers!
WIRE JEWELRY KIT
My sister said her nieces have gotten really into wire jewelry making this year and she gave a set to Ani who has been making rings and necklaces consistently all week. This is new to me and they are so cute!
THE LITTLE MERMAID
Bart’s parents always give their grandchildren a book for their birthdays and this beautiful copy of classic stories with gold edges is absolutely perfect for her!
BOLLE MONOGRAM NECKLACE
This beautiful necklace from my parents was the perfect companion to the necklace we gave Ani – she’s been wearing them in layers since she received them!
