What we will actually give the girls for Christmas

Eleven years ago, I wrote my first post on “What we REALLY give our girls for Christmas”!
It’s now so present in my daily reading that the moment the calendar rolls over to November, people start texting me asking when it’s coming out!
And here it is!
This post is also very helpful to me personally because it forces Bart and I to sit down and make decisions about what gifts we will get for our girls.
As the girls get older, it gets a little harder to find the right gifts for them (less squishmallows now!) but I think they’ll all have a great Christmas.
Here’s what they’ll find under the tree and in their stockings this holiday season!

For Ella (15.5 years old)

Slippers with clogs
These are VERY popular and I got them in one of the first Black Friday deals – I think Ella will love them. I keep wondering if they are for indoors or outdoors and the good news is you can go either!

Cashmere sweater
On Tally’s wish list, she asked for “something soft cashmere for dinner” (I assume she meant “super,” not “dinner”). Well she’s in luck because this year we gave each of the girls a cashmere sweater for Christmas!

Necklace
Ella has gotten more into jewelry over the last year and we thought she would love a classic piece of jewelry that she can wear all the time!

Pickleball shoes
Ella is on the varsity pickleball team and plays and trains non-stop, so we knew she would love a pair of pumps that offered more support than a pair of running shoes!
For Ani (13 years old)

Slippers with clogs
I gave Ani a pair of these same clog slippers (in a different color) and while I think Ella will love them, I think Ani will REALLY love them because she is the queen of comfy things!

Cashmere sweater
And a cashmere sweater for you!

Shokz
Last year we gave Ella a pair of Shokz for Christmas and she loved them so much that Ani asked for a pair too! This year she joined a community track team so she runs a lot and these are safer because you can hear traffic better while listening!

Overhead projector
This was one of the fun things Ani put on her Christmas wish list and I think she will be happy to find it under the tree!
For Star (almost 11)

Cashmere sweater
Get a cashmere sweater and get a cashmere sweater and get a cashmere sweater!
Book series

Remote control car
This was on Star’s Christmas wish list and I’m already imagining Christmas morning with all this whizzing around the house. It’s a big deal to Bart that there’s a good amount of FUN involved in Christmas presents and this one will definitely hit the mark!

American girl doll
Star loves playing with our American Girl collection (we have so many clothes and furniture from my childhood!) and specifically asked for a new doll so she can play more characters. The year I got my American Girl (Addy!) was probably the most memorable Christmas morning of my life.

American doll camper
This was one of the things Star asked for and it’s perfect to go with the little Jeep we gave her a year or two ago. I got it on a crazy deal at almost half the price!
For Tally (almost 9)

LEGO grocery store set
On her wishlist, Tally said “A Lego set from the grocery store {please get me this because if you get me anything on this list, please get me this}” so. . . here it comes!

Cashmere sweater
And one last cashmere sweater for the trip!
Book series

Remote control car
Tally added one to her Christmas list, so we’ll get her one in a different color. It’s going to be race car heaven around here on December 25th!

Karaoke set
We’ve done karaoke a few times as a family and my girls love it. I knew the moment I saw this set that it would be a big hit (and when I shared it online, so many families said they had it and loved it!)
Gifts for the family

Flip7
I always like to give my girls a game at Christmas that we can play in the weeks before the Christmas holidays and throughout the winter. This costs under $10 and has rave reviews (and when I asked about it on Instagram, I got tons of rave messages about how much people loved it!)
Paris portrait framing
When we went to Paris over two years ago, we had portraits of all four Montmartre girls taken and they are still rolled up in my office closet. They’ve been asking us for two years when we would frame and hang them and this Christmas we’ll finally take care of it!
And here’s what we put in their socks:

Needoh Cubes
My girls are obsessed with these and will all be thrilled to find one in their stockings on Christmas morning!

Pencil cases
I think these will be especially popular for church bags or travel backpacks to be able to group all your pens, pencils and markers in one handy place!

Sunglasses
A lot of my girls have been asking me for sunglasses for Christmas and I have absolutely no interest in spending a fortune on kids sunglasses, so I got an affordable pair for every stocking!

Heart-shaped leather bookmarks
These have been so popular that I bought a set so I could put one in each stocking (they’re super affordable!)

3D house sticker scene
These were in the $5 gift guide this year and I purchased them so quickly. My girls will turn them over!

Keeper of the Lost Cities water bottle stickers
My girls absolutely love Keeper of the Lost Cities so when I saw this pack of water bottle stickers, I knew it would be a hit to share among their stockings!
And if you’re interested, you can see all the previous years with what we gave them here!
