  • Do you ever feel like yourself walking on egg shells?
  • Anyone else check the way you spend your money?
  • Anyone else stop or make you feel bad to see friends and relatives?
  • Is anyone pressing you to give them money or take loans on their account?

What is domestic abuse

In the United Kingdom, about 30% of women underwent domestic abuse since the age of 16. Domestic abuse can present itself in many forms and can be referred to a single accident or a model of accidents. In most cases the author of the abuse is a partner or ex partner, but it could also be a family member or an assistant.

Domestic abuse does not only concern physical violence. Sometimes it can be difficult to recognize domestic abuse or we may not feel comfortable to appoint the things we are experiencing as abuse. This is understandable as there is still very stigma and shame that surround the subject.

We could also feel uncomfortable to label a loved one in this way, but to do things like depriving the family of money, asking you to lie for them, denying the conversations you have had or even making you feel frightened, they are all forms of abuse.

The impact of someone else’s gambling

From our experience in support of women, we often hear about the profound impact that someone else’s gambling can have on their lives. Women often tell us that they feel forced to financial debt, they are pressure to give money to the person who plays and feel enlightened by gas when they express concern.

We hear about the ways in which their financial independence is eroded, how they have to give up the hobbies and interests they enjoy or who needed to delay the milestones of life how to have children and how this can let them be trapped and isolated.

You could not even live with the person whose gambling is hitting you, but Gasilighing and coercion can still have a huge impact on your well -being. The stories we listen to from women highlight the anguish and the difficulty they face while navigating in these complex situations.

Our priority is to listen to your experience and offer support focused on your needs.
