There’s nothing more fun than a closet full of cute girls’ clothes. We’ve tried dozens of clothing stores over the years and these are all my favorite places to shop for clothes, from toddlers to teens!

There aren’t many things I’m expert at, but with four daughters?

Dresses for Girls is definitely a place I’ve had a lot of experience!

We’ve owned a lot of clothes over the years and I think it’s not too challenging when they’re little, but it gets tricky when they get into their teens and teens!

The best places to buy girls’ clothes

Alice+Ames

This is probably one of the most popular little shops for cute dresses for girls – I see them everywhere on Instagram and in real life.

Alice + Ames are best known for their ballet-style spiral dresses, but have branched out into woven dresses plus skirts, tops, and short separates. My girls loved their Alice + Ames dresses (we used the black ones one year for witch dresses for Halloween) and have worn tons and tons of them over many years! Old Navy

I’m an Old Navy lover through and through and I especially think they nail it when it comes to cute clothes for girls. We have owned many Old Navy baby and toddler clothes and they have held up beautifully to four girls. I feel like their clothes strike the perfect balance between trendy and classic, and tend to be extraordinarily well made (although I always prefer fabric dresses, rather than stretch cotton ones).

Carter’s

I have loved Carter’s since before Ella was born and they have so many adorable dress options. I especially love their shirtdresses and other cute, classic dresses for girls. The prices are hard to beat and hold up beautifully. I got a used Carter dress for Ella in 2010 and it lasted all four of my girls!

Dresses for older girls (11-16 years)

J. Crew / J. Crew Factory

I found some great clothes at J.Crew and J.Crew Factory. They have great sales and you can often find items 70% off, which makes the clothes less than Walmart prices. If you’re looking for matching outfits for family, Easter, Christmas, or family photos, this is a great choice because their girls’ outfits are available in sizes 2 to 16 and they have matching pieces for the whole family. I’ve also had great luck with the XXS sizes in the women’s section for my 13 and 15 year old girls!

The print and color of this dress are so fun! Plus, I really can’t say no to puffy sleeves on a girl’s dress.

I think smocked dresses are really good for babies and toddlers, but I love the idea of ​​a smocked dress for older girls.

Party dress for girls
Sizes 2-14

If you have a special event to attend: wedding, graduation, fancy party or even church, this dress is so stunning! I love all the little details and I know my girls would feel so beautiful in this.

Maurice

This store has been a big hit for teen clothes in our house – I feel like their sizing can be all over the place, so definitely check reviews of specific items to see how the sizing goes!

Called to sail

Called to Surf is a local Provo shop, but they also have a website and ship all over the US. They have a great selection of dresses for women and girls. And they even have some fun options for mom and me. I love this blue floral print dress!

I would absolutely love to wear this dress too. It feels so breezy and flowy for the spring and summer months ahead. Plus, the delicate blue floral is so sweet.

Rylee and Cru

Rylee and Cru recently launched a line for teens. The clothes are so cute!
Ivy dress for teenagers

Rylee and Cru make very comfortable dresses, they are amazing but still look refined and timeless.

Zara

Zara can be hit or miss for me sometimes, but it’s worth a look, especially during sales. Most girls’ dresses go up to a size 13-14.

I love when a piece of clothing can take you through all seasons, and this one does just that. I could see my girls wearing it in fall, winter, spring and summer!

Mini floor

I love the bright colors and fun patterns that Boden dresses often have. The quality is top notch and great to pass down if you have multiple girls in your family. This is another site to keep an eye on for sales.

There’s nothing cozier than a knit dress. It may feel like you’re wearing overalls, but it looks much more elegant. I know my girls would wear this in a heartbeat.

Quince

Quince has great clothes for the whole family. My daughters loved the sweaters they received for Christmas from Quince. No surprise they have some great clothes too!
