One of the pleasures of my reading life is going back to reading the classics I missed growing up.

One of those classics?

A tree grows in Brooklyn.

I had heard about it my whole life, but had never read it, and then when I was working as a school librarian in Massachusetts and had a long commute, I got the audiobook on CD at my library (that was a long time ago!) and listened to it.

And I LOVED it. I definitely lived up to the hype! (You can see my review here).

I capture Dodie Smith’s castle
My mother read this book over ten years ago and then passed it to me – it’s not my normal book, but I loved it!

A One of a Kind Family by Sydney Taylor
Follow the daily adventures of a Jewish family with five girls living in New York at the turn of the 20th century. This heartwarming book shows the joys and hardships of this close-knit family. I LOVED this series as a child and have enjoyed sharing it with my children.

Emily from New Moon by LM Montgomery
This is by the same author as Anne of Green Gables and as a young reader I loved this trilogy even MORE than Anne. When Emily’s beloved father dies, she is sent to live with her two aunts and a cousin and life seems rather bleak, so she finds refuge in her beloved diaries.

The Chosen One by Chaim Potok
My mother suggested I read it when I was trying to choose a book from a list during my sophomore year of high school and was very doubtful. And then I LOVED it. I think I should reread this book about families, faith and friendship.

The Blue Castle by LM Montgomery
Whenever we talk about L.M. Montgomery’s best books, this one gets mentioned about a million times. If you want something delightfully old fashioned, this is for you. It’s a perfect read, with just the right amount of romance.

Wolf Hollow by Lauren Holk
This is set in World War II, with the focus on Annabelle living in a small town in Pennsylvania. The audio version of Wolf Hollow is fantastic and listening to it was a completely immersive experience – I felt like I was right there in the hills of Pennsylvania wondering who was to blame and who to trust. I listened to it all in two days – it was so good. (Full review here)

Betsy-Tacy series by Maud Lovelace
This series is really sweet and follows these girls from when they are young until they reach adulthood. Super delicious and old fashioned.

PakarPBN

A Private Blog Network (PBN) is a collection of websites that are controlled by a single individual or organization and used primarily to build backlinks to a “money site” in order to influence its ranking in search engines such as Google. The core idea behind a PBN is based on the importance of backlinks in Google’s ranking algorithm. Since Google views backlinks as signals of authority and trust, some website owners attempt to artificially create these signals through a controlled network of sites.

In a typical PBN setup, the owner acquires expired or aged domains that already have existing authority, backlinks, and history. These domains are rebuilt with new content and hosted separately, often using different IP addresses, hosting providers, themes, and ownership details to make them appear unrelated. Within the content published on these sites, links are strategically placed that point to the main website the owner wants to rank higher. By doing this, the owner attempts to pass link equity (also known as “link juice”) from the PBN sites to the target website.

The purpose of a PBN is to give the impression that the target website is naturally earning links from multiple independent sources. If done effectively, this can temporarily improve keyword rankings, increase organic visibility, and drive more traffic from search results.
