19 years ago this week (on Halloween, actually!), I wrote my first blog post about daily reading.

I had a LiveJournal in high school and college, successfully convincing all of my roommates, my boyfriend, and a group of kids we ate dinner with in the cafeteria to start one too.

But in 2005 I started reading blogs written by people I did NOT know and was entranced by this peek into someone else’s life.

I told Bart all about these people I didn’t really know and after a year, he suggested I start my own blog.

My answer? “I have nothing to say.”

Ah! The joke’s on me because 19 years later it turns out I had waaaay more than enough to say.

Each year, I like to look back to see which posts were the most popular over the past 12 months.

There are always some that I know will show up and some that totally surprise me! Here’s what topped the charts this year!

$5 Gift Guide for 2024
The $5 gift guide is always popular, but last year it received literally hundreds of thousands of requests to link on the reel I made about it (that reel grew my Instagram audience by about 100,000 followers!). No wonder it was the most popular post all year!

Where to get a non-resident library card
This was post no. 1 last year and I’m not surprised to see it hold the No. 1 spot. 2 this year. My team and I work hard to keep it updated, adding libraries as we discover them and removing some if their policies change.

Turn on 101
This post was SO FUN to write because I love Kindle readers and answer all questions about them – it was a top performer last year and is even MORE popular this year! I’m thrilled that it’s been helpful to so many people. (I also wrote a post on Audible 101 and a post on Yoto 101!)

The best audiobooks for a road trip
This post continues to become more and more popular, getting a higher position on this list every year! There’s something truly magical about listening to something on a road trip together and I’m happy to be able to share some ideas for your family travels with you!

2025 Daily Reading Book Club
Every year since 2021, the Daily Reading Book Club post has made it onto my top post list, and this year’s list has been more popular than ever! Stay tuned for the 2026 list coming in December!

How we got airport lounge access for our entire family
This is a new surprise addition to the list! We enjoyed having lounge access on our travels this year and am sad that some things will change in 2026 for lounge access.

WHOA this post has taken Instagram by storm. I talked about it three different times and each time it went absolutely viral. I’m so happy this list was so helpful for parents who don’t want to hand Fourth Wing or Colleen Hoover to their teenager!
